A new campaign of fraudulent emails has been detected, the aim of which is to extort victims into paying a certain amount in bitcoins or else a supposedly intimate video will be made public. This scam is known as sextortion.

Solution
If you have received such an email, do not reply and delete it. No one has had access to your devices or recorded an intimate video, it is a scam that uses social engineering strategies.

VERY IMPORTANT: do not pay any money to the extortionists, nor reply to the email they have sent you. The latter is used by cybercriminals to find out if the account is active and to send new scams in the future.

Avoid becoming a victim of this type of fraud by following our recommendations:

* If you receive unsolicited emails or emails from strangers, do not open them and delete them.
* Do not reply to these e-mails under any circumstances, and do not send personal information.
* Keep all your devices and antivirus updated.
* In no case send data of your contacts, nor forward the mail, in this way you will help the fact that the fraud does not spread.
* In case of doubt, consult directly with the State Security Forces and Corps (FCSE) or the Internet Security Office (OSI).
