Following the recent catastrophic fire at OVH Cloud’s SBG2 data centre, the industry is questioning the vulnerability of facilities to such incidents, and fire prevention and extinguishing strategies.
The bottom line is that, although these are infrequent incidents, they have increased fourfold since 2016, something that is of increasing concern to industry experts, and is leading to the development of new strategies for new data centres, something that will change the requirements for official certifications.
